Australian batsman Ben Dunk has been in some superb form in the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2020. Not only has he done well with the gloves but he has played a huge part in two of the victories of Lahore Qalandars in the tournament. On Sunday night, it was once again Ben dunk who turned out for Qalandars and smashed a brilliant 99 to help them win their third game of the season and stay alive in the race for qualification. During this knock, in an over, he hit three sixes off four balls, which was probably the highlight of his innings.
The incident took place in the 13th over of the innings when Umer Khan, the left-arm spinner, came up to bowl. Ben dunk hit the first ball over the mid-wicket region for a massive six. The third ball then went over the cow corner region for another six. The very next ball, Dunk smashed one more six towards the long leg region. What's the video of those three sixes here:
Lahore Qalandars found themselves chasing 188 at the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore on Sunday against Karachi Kings. A win was a must for them to ensure them that they are not knocked out of the tournament. But the chase fell apart very quickly when Mohammad Hafeez failed to accelerate and push the score in the powerplay overs. Ben Dunk came out to bat at number 4, with the score at 50 for 2 in the 9th over.
The chase was looking slightly out of reach at this time but the Australian left-hander produced one of the best knocks of the tournament to get Qalandars to a magnificent victory. He played just 40 balls for his unbeaten knock of 99. During this innings, Ben Dunk hit 12 sixes and three fours. Dunk, now also holds the record for most sixes in the tournament with 23 maximums to his name. His knock ensured that Lahore reached the total with 5 balls to spare. Sohail Akhtar, the captain of Qalandar accompanied Dunk with 68 runs off just 46 balls. His innings included six fours and two sixes.
