‘Universal Boss’ Chris Gayle delivered a mind-boggling, jaw-dropping innings in his final ODI appearance at home that stunned England and delivered a remarkable win for the hosts. Gayle’s ruthless onslaught of 77 runs off just 27 balls tore apart England as Windies drew the series 2-2.

Nine sixes, five fours: Chris Gayle unplugged

Fans were expecting another run feast in the final ODI between Windies and England. But England were all out for just 113 runs and it seemed like the series will have an anti-climax end.

But Gayle had other ideas and he made sure that the match had no dearth of fireworks. The left-hander brought his fifty in just 19 balls and registered the fastest fifty by a West Indian batsman and scored 77 runs off only 27 balls.

Gayle cleared his intentions by slamming two fours and a six in the first over against Chris Woakes and then scored another three sixes and one four in his next over. He then took on Mark Wood and scored two sixes in the sixth over. In the eight over, Gayle smashed three sixes and two fours on the first five balls of the over but was castled on the sixth ball by Wood.
