Chennai Super Kings have finally got what they wanted, yes, a win and 2 points. They have tasted their 3rd victory in their 8th game in the season to go along with 5 losses. The runners-up of the previous year and the champions in 2018 had a horror start to their campaign but they are back on track with a thumping win over Sunrisers Hyderabad.

CSK was sloppy in the field in their previous games but they brought out their A-game against SRH and the champion all-rounder in DJ Bravo affected a game-changing run out that saw the back of Manish Pandey.

DJ Bravo hits the bull’s eye to dismiss Manish Pandey

CSK changed their batting order and sent Sam Curran as a pinch hitter at the top of the order along with Faf Du Plessis which did wonders for them. Sam Curran scored a brilliant 31 off 21 balls that helped CSK to get off to a brisk start and they were always ahead of the par score from thereon. They managed to score 167 runs in their 20 overs with handy contributions from Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu who scored 42 and 41 respectively.

SRH had a disappointing start to their tricky chase as Sam Curran dismissed David Warner for 9 runs. Manish Pandey who struck a brilliant 4 off the second ball that he faced was run out in the same over in which David Warner got out. He terribly misjudged a single and the ball went straight into the hands of DJ Bravo who didn’t miss the opportunity to run out Manish Pandey.

Kane Williamson’s knock in vain

The Kiwi captain tried his best to take his team home but the wicket got slower and slower as it progressed and it was too much even for a well set Kane Williamson who was eventually dismissed for a 39 ball 57. CSK won the game by 20 runs in the end.
