When a fast bowler is trying to execute the most difficult ball in a match at death where the batsman is looking to deposit the ball into the stands, the heat and pressure at the moment cannot be summed up in words. The risk of executing such ball is when it doesn’t come off and the end result can be as brutal as it can get. The Barbados born Jofra Archer slipped out a beamer in the process of trying a yorker to Hardik Pandya in the match against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020 that took Hardik Pandya by surprise.

Jofra Archer’s beamer; No reaction time for Hardik Pandya.

Mumbai Indians were in commanding position after opting to bat first on a good track in Dubai as their #3 batsman in Suryakumar Yadav finally played a big knock after getting a good start. MI were 161 for the loss of 4 wickets at the end of 18 overs as Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya were batting and Steve Smith decided to give the penultimate over to Jofra Archer. The tearaway quick started the over with a terrorizing beamer and the reaction time for the batsman was very minimal as well because of the pace that Jofra Archer generates. Hardik Pandya managed to duck under it at the last milli second and he was absolutely shell shocked with the delivery.

Jasprit Bumrah back to his beast mode

MI posted a match winning score of 193 runs in their 20 overs and it was always a mountainous task for the thin batting line up of RR. Trent Boult dismissed the RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal for a duck and Jasprit Bumrah dismissed RR captain Steve Smith in the 2nd over of the match to push RR to back foot right away.

It was always a one way traffic from thereon and Jos Buttler tried his very best to take his team home but he got out after scoring 70 runs from 44 balls and RR were bowled out for 136 runs as MI won the game by 57 runs. Jasprit Bumrah took 4 wickets for 20 runs in his 4 overs
