The Indian premier opener in test match cricket Mayank Agarwal has been given out under controversial circumstances in the first test against New Zealand after hotspot showed no impressions.

The Karnataka opener who looked set for a big score was given out by the umpire Aleem Dar which left India in deep trouble on day 3 of the 1st test in Wellington.

Day-light between bat and ball

India have been struggling in the ongoing test match against the Kiwis in Wellington. This was India’s first test series in tough conditions in their World test championship and they have failed to cope up with the pressure in not so familiar conditions.

India started their 2nd innings with a deficit of a massive 183 runs. India needed some one at the top to play a huge innings to wipe off the deficit before thinking of setting up a target for the Kiwis. But Indians were off to a poor start once again as Prithvi Shaw threw his wicket away after some relentless bowling from Trent Boult.

India’s other opener Mayank Agarwal was going strong at the other end as he reached his half-century and looked set to take India to a respectable position at the end of day 3 but was given out by the umpire Aleem Dar for caught behind.

Mayank Agarwal decided the take the matter upstairs but the 3rd umpire wasn’t courageous enough to overturn the on-field umpire’s decision since there was slight disturbance in the snicko meter even though the hotspot showed no traces of white spot in the bat

India on the verge of a loss

India are still 39 runs lagging behind the Kiwis 1st innings total with only 6 wickets left. The Indian captain continues his flop show in the New Zealand tour as once again he failed to make any impact with his bat.
A herculean task awaits the Indian lower middle order batters on day 4. If anything, it is a great chance for the #1 side to prove that they are no pushovers and is expected to put up some fight against the red hot Kiwis.
