Rishabh Pant is the latest joined in the queue as he was involved in an Instagram live session of Delhi Capitals.

Rishabh Pant tries to pick Dhoni's brains

In the Instagram live session, Rishabh Pant was all praise for his predecessor and termed him as one of the brilliant minds while chasing scores.

“He is like a mentor to me. He helps me on and off the field. He gives me hints and tries that I figure things out myself so that I do not become dependent on him but he also does not just back off from it,”

On batting with MS Dhoni, the youngster said;

“Although my favourite batting partner is #MSDhoni, we get very few chances to bat together. When Mahi Bhai is there, everything feels sorted out as you just have to follow his plan. There is #Virat, #Rohit, whenever you bat alongside seniors, it is a different experience.”

He has idolized the likes of Adam Gilchrist and MS Dhoni

The 22-year-old from Uttarakhand has always looked up to guys like Adam Gilchrist and MS Dhoni. But at the same time, he also emphasized on being original.

“I feel proud that both of them have acknowledged my performances, he said. It’s important to learn from your idols, but you don’t have to copy them. It is important to build your own identity.”

Of late, Pant has been struggling with form which has eventually made him warm the bench in the limited-overs cricket. KL Rahul has been given the nod to keep wickets ahead of him. However, with the talent Pant possess, it is just a matter of time when we will see him back at his best and winning matches for India.
