Watch: Virat Kohli Faces Young Tendulkar in the Nets at Lord’s

By Rajsi Swaroop

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s son and India under -19 left arm pacer Arjun Tendulkar was spotted bowling to Indian captain Virat Kohli during a net practice session at the Home of cricket, Lord’s. Arjun recently toured Sri Lanka with the Under-19 side for the two Test matches where he picked up his maiden wicket, but he didn’t impressed with the bat. Arjun has been dropped from the U-19’s one-dayer side against Sri Lanka, so he is back in England and enjoying his free time while helping India for practising against a Left-arm pacer at Lord’s.
Arjun was called for the practice because of his bowling style. Last Week, the left arm English Pacer Sam Curran dismantled the Indian Batting line up in the first innings, and he picked up 5 wickets in that particular match, so Arjun was called to help Indian batting side with the left arm angle ahead of the second Test at Lord’s given that India has no left arm pacer in their squad.

It is given that in the first Test at Edgbaston, Indian skipper Virat Kohli was looking like a lone warrior, and he managed to score 200 runs in two innings, but he couldn’t save the team from getting a 31-run defeat against England. In both the innings, the guest side was bowled out at 274 and 162 respectively, and it once again proved the saying of the cricket experts that a Test match can only be won by taking 20 wickets not by scoring centuries.
India needs to lift their game especially by the top and middle order batsmen to bounce back into the Test series. Right now, they lack in numbers while England has a lead in the Five-match Test series by 1-0.
