The visiting New Zealand team are very much likely to rest some of their players before the WTC Final against India and one of them could be their captain Kane Williamson who is currently recovering from an elbow injury. New Zealand let-arm spinner Mitchell Santner has already been ruled out of the second Test due to a finger injury. Kiwi head coach Gary Stead has also confirmed that all of the pacers who were part of the Lord’s Test will not be part of the playing XI for the second Test against England and thus, Trent Boult is likely to make his return.

On the other hand, England could include one of Craig Overton or Dom Bess in place of Ollie Robinson in the playing 11.
