Which batsmen hold the record of Highest Partnership in IPL?

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has completed 15 glamorous seasons, and fans have been treated to some epic moments over the years. It is quite unusual to see partnerships exceeding 200 runs T20 cricket, however, there have been five occasions when the landmark has been crossed.

The record for the highest partnership in IPL cricket lies with Royal Challengers Bangalore duo of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. The destructive pair need no introduction, and have been one of the standout pairs in the last decade of IPL.

Both players scored magnificent tons, with the Protea batter scoring an unbeaten 129 off just 52 deliveries. On the other hand, Virat Kohli continued his dream run with the bat, scoring 109 off 55 balls.

Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers’ dominance in IPL can be established by the fact that the duo also hold the record for the second highest IPL partnership. They stitched an unbeaten partnership of 215 runs against eventual champions Mumbai Indians back in the 2015 season.

Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul registered the highest opening partnership in IPL in 2022. The duo put on a 210-run stand for the first wicket against Kolkata Knight Riders.Former Punjab Kings and Australian duo Shaun Marsh and Adam Gilchrist registered a 206-run stand for the second wicket against Royal Challengers Bangalore back in the 2011 season.

Rounding off the top five is again a RCB pair. This time it features Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli, who have also had memorable partnerships. The duo registered an unbeaten stand of 204 runs for the second wicket against Delhi Capitals back in 2012.
