Anukul Roy IPL 2022: In a big news development, Jharkhand-born Anukul Roy is all set to make his debut for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the today Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) match against Rajasthan Royals at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai. The Kolkata Knight Riders are yet to find the right balance with respect to their playing combination and that is the major reason of giving opportunities to many youngsters especially Indian players who have done well at the domestic level. Uttar Pradesh’s Rinku Singh has handed over Anukul with his KKR debut cap.
Anukul Roy was born on 30 November, 1998 in Saraikela Kharswan, Jharkhand. He is primarily a left-arm orthodox spinner who can bat well down the order and a gun fielder having played all of his domestic cricket for the Jharkhand state team. The left-armer made his T20 debut for Jharkhand in February 2019 against Delhi. While playing in a total of 31 T20 matches, he has picked up as many as 19 wickets at an economy of 7.09 and also smashed more than 300 runs at a brilliant strike-rate of 141.39.
Anukul Roy has also taken a total of 50 wickets in first-class cricket and also scored more than 700 runs. The left-arm spinner has performed decently well for Jharkhand so far in the domestic circuit across the three formats.

In the Indian Premier League 2022 mega auction, the Kolkata Knight Riders bought Anukul Roy at his base price of INR 20 Lakh. Roy was first picked by the Mumbai Indians and is someone who is known for his stunning fielding efforts as a substitute player in the IPL so far.
