Obed McCoy IPL 2022: In a big news update, West Indies left-arm fast bowler Obed McCoy will be making his debut for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the today Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The 25-year-old has played both ODI and T20I cricket for West Indies so far and the youngster has the ability to consistently bowl over 140 kmph. McCoy has also delivered some brilliant performances with the ball in the previous edition of the Caribbean Premier League T20.
Caribbean lanky pace bowler Obed McCoy was born on 4 January, 1997 in Saint Vincent & the Grenadines. He first came into the limelight when he was part of the West Indies Under 19 team that won the 2016 ICC U19 World Cup having defeated India in the finals. In 2018 October, McCoy made his international cricket debut for West Indies in a ODI match against India and he played his first T20I encounter against England in March 2019.
While talking about his overall T20 career stats, Obed McCoy has picked up as many as 45 wickets from 35 matches at a fine economy of less than 9 and an average of 20.80. In 13 T20Is, the left-armer has taken 19 scalps at a brilliant economy of 7.61. McCoy is considered as a death overs specialist bowler in T20 cricket.
