Who will be the King of IPL in 2023?

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has over the years provided great entertainment to the fans as players from several corners of the world have graced the game in the shortest format. Whether it may be the rise of Pragyan Ojha or Jasprit Bumrah, the IPL stage has seen players make a name for themselves. The 2023 season will be no exception as players will be hungry to lay down a marker.

Who will be the King of IPL in 2023?

One name that could glitter the global stage in 2023 could be Virat Kohli as stats will tell you that he is well and truly back in form. 2022 has been Virat’s second-best year in his T20 career, having amassed close to 500 runs, and is all but certain to break his 641-run record from 2016 and write 2022 in the record books.

Currently, various pieces are missing in the puzzle for Virat ahead of the 2023 IPL campaign as he searches for his first title. With form on his side in 2022, he can cherish the moment and set the world on fire especially when he has some of the best names in the business around him at the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Dinesh Karthik and Faf du Plessis will be the fulcrum of his batting aid while he looks nail-on for success in the shortest format.

Virat has recently returned to form having scored a hundred against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022 while his stellar show continued in the T20I series against Australia and South Africa. His tally of 973 runs in 16 matches remains a record at arm’s length for other players, but Virat has all the tools in his arsenal to repeat a performance of a similar sort.

By the time he plays in the IPL 2023, he will be 34, but age is just a number with the former India captain firing on all cylinders. With the added pressure of captaincy and the presence of world-class coaches and players around him, Virat could be expected to show some good firepower in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
