WI Playing 11: After a Covid scare, West Indies will now face Australia in the second ODI of the series here at Barbados. If the pressure was on Australia for the first match, now the pressure has shifted to West Indies camp to save the series. After a convincing win in the T20Is, the hosts had a disappointing start to the ODI series. Their batsmen were unable to put up any fight and surrendered to Starc and Hazlewood. With series on the line, WI will look to make things even going into the final match. In 140 ODIs played between these sides overall, Australia leads West Indies 75-60.

Team News

  • The teams were already decided at the toss which took place before the match got suspended. Shai Hope’s ankle injury ruled him out of the first ODI. He will be back in place of Shimron Hetmyer at the top and will also keep wickets.

Evin Lewis has been in good form in the T20I series. Shai Hope’s return will boost the batting line-up as he has been one of the top scorers in ODI cricket in recent years. Skipper Kieron Pollard showed good form on his comeback and but Pooran’s inconsistent run may be a concern. In bowling, Hayden Walsh’s 5-wicket haul was a huge positive and will look to continue his good form. A better performance from fast bowlers will be expected this time.
