UP Warriorz had a decent outing in the first edition of the Women’s Premier League. The franchise finished third out of the five teams contesting for the final prize.
UP Warriorz reached the playoffs, where they were defeated by eventual winners Mumbai Indians. The franchise did not get off to a great start, however, secured some back to back wins in the latter stages to reach the playoffs.
UP Warriorz will be led by the experienced Australian wicket keeper Alyssa Healy. There are some big names in the squad, with the likes of Deepti Sharma, Dani Wyatt and Sophie Ecclestone.

Sophie Ecclestone was among the top performers in the last edition of the tournament, picking up 16 wickets in just 9 matches at an average of 14.68. The English all rounder also made some good contributions with the bat, scoring 70 runs at an average of 17.50.
Deepti Sharma had a rather disappointing campaign, scoring just 90 runs. The Indian all rounder will look to do much better this time around. Alyssa Healy had an impressive campaign, where she scored 253 runs at an average of just over 30.
