Who won today’s IPL match?: The 34th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 saw Delhi Capitals (DC) taking on (RR) Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The game yet again witnessed Jos Buttler’s masterclass as he scored his third ton of the season. DC were right in the game as every batsman chipped at crucial stages. But in the end, pressure got better off them as RR completed a 15- run victory to go at the top of the table.
The decision to put Rajasthan Royals into bat first didn’t work for Delhi Capitals as they were at the receiving end of thrashing at the hands of Jos Buttler. The English batsman took DC bowlers to cleaners and smashed his third ton of the season. He was well-accompanied by Devdutt Padikkal, who scored 54 runs, and Sanju Samson, who scored 46 runs in just 19 balls to help their side post a gigantic total of 222 runs on the board.

Chasing the target, DC openers David Warner (28) and Prithvi Shaw (37) once again took their team off the flyer and scored 43 runs for the partnership. Skipper Rishabh Pant then took the onus on himself and scored a quick fire 44 runs. But it wasn’t enough as RR kept coming back in the crucial stages to take wickets at regular intervals. Lalit Yadav gave the Samson-led side a real scare but he was undone by Prasidh Krishna, who bowled a maiden penultimate over. With 36 runs needed off the last over, Rovman Powell smashed three sixes on the first three balls but Obed McCoy held his nerve and defended the target to hand DC a 15-run loss.
Rajasthan Royals’ wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler was awarded the Man of the Match in today’s encounter against Delhi Capitals (DC). Buttler continued his red hot form in the tournament and registered his third ton of the season. The opening batman smashed 116 runs including 9 fours and 9 sixes in his knock. His knock helped his side post a mammoth total of 222 runs on the board and subsequently win the match.

The next match of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is slated to take place between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. Whereas the afternoon game is scheduled to be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Brabourne Stadium.
