After Shubman Gill got sheen injury, Washington Sundar and Avesh Khan injured themselves during the practice match, where they represented County XI against India. Initially, Jayant Yadav was also suggested as a back-up option Sundar, but only two Mumbai batsmen were called in the Test squad against England.
