IND vs ENG 3rd Test

There are a lot of selection issues for the host England side in the third Test against India. Dawid Malan is very much likely to make his return to the longest format for the first time since 2018 while Haseeb Hameed is expected to open the batting alongside Rory Burns. However, the biggest query is that who will replace injured Mark Wood in the England playing XI. One of Saqib Mahmood or Craig Overton will fill the void in the bowling department.

On the other hand, India could play the same combination that won the Lord’s Test. However, Indian captain Virat Kohli did mention about the dry surface at the Headingley which makes a sure shot case for Ravichandran Ashwin to be drafted in the playing 11 while Shardul Thakur could also make a cut. Senior paceman Ishant Sharma is likely to warm the bench in this third Test match.
