James Anderson on Bouncer Barrage CONTROVERSY with Jasprit Bumrah

The England fast bowler James Anderson after involving in a sledging incident with Mohammad Siraj has now spoken about the over by Jasprit Bumrah in the  ENG vs IND 2nd Test match. The fast bowler before coming out to bat had received the remark of pitch being quite slow, and Bumrah being not at his quickest. The frequent no-balls delivered by Bumrah made an over of 10-12 balls, which made it quite hard for Anderson to survive the over and thinking that for the first time in his career, the bowler wasn’t trying to get him out.

Here’s the statement by James Anderson,

“I got caught off guard a little bit because all the batters coming in were saying how slow the pitch was,” said Anderson. “Banged in short; it was really slow. When I came out to bat, Joe said Bumrah was not bowling as quick as he normally does. And then, the first ball was 90 miles an hour and on the money, wasn’t it? And it felt like, I haven’t felt like this ever in my career. I felt he wasn’t trying to get me out.” “I felt he wasn’t trying to get me out. He bowled an over, maybe 10, 11, 12 balls. He was bowling no-ball after no-ball, bowling short. I think he bowled two on the stumps which I managed to dig out. So for me, it was just about trying to survive that and get Joe back on strike.”

Expected changes for both teams in ENG vs IND 3rd Test

The Indian team after winning the 2nd test match will look to keep their combinations same. Nevertheless, Shardul Thakur who had to sit out in the last test match is now fit and available for selection as well and can replace Ishant Sharma.
