Dublin, May 9, Thursday at 3:15 PM
After facing a massive 196 runs drubbing at the hands of Windies in the opening encounter, the hosts, Ireland, will be looking for a strong comeback against Bangladesh when both the teams face off at The Village in Dublin tomorrow. However, it won’t be easy for the home side as Bangladesh is coming after registering 8 wickets convincing win over the Windies. This makes it even tougher!
In the tournament opener, Windies posted a massive 381 runs total with the help of record 365 runs opening partnership between the two openers – J Campbell (179) and Shai Hope (170). Coming to chase, Ireland folded up at 185 in 34.4 overs in front of Ashley Nurse’s 4-51 and Shanon Gabriel’s 3-44.
With Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan and Saumya Sarkar looking good with the bat, it will be a real task for the Irish bowlers to dismiss them early. However, the Bangladeshi spinners were quite expensive against Windies in their last game and Kevin O’Brien, Paul Stirling, Gary Wilson and Andrew Balbirnie will have to take the charge with the bat for hosts, as they are capable of playing spin.
So, an interesting battle is expected to take place when both these sides will feature at The Village Dublin which is expected to get a couple of showers during the match.
With the overcast conditions and rain expected at the start of the game, the pacers are expected to get some help from the wicket.

Bangladesh fantasy picks-
The Bangladesh top order- Tamim Iqbal, Shaumya Sarkar and Shakib Al Hasan looked extremely good with the bat. All the three smashed fifties in the first game against Windies and will carry their form
Shakib Al Hasan is expected to bat at number three again and will be crucial with the ball too
M Mortaza, Mustafizur Rahman and M Saiffuddin were amongst the wickets in the first game.
However, they were a bit too expensive, especially M Rahman -84 runs in his 10 overs spell. Spinners too accounted for a lot of runs.
Ireland fantasy picks-
Kevin O Brien, W Porterfield, Gary Wilson and Paul Stirling are the key batters in the side.
Paul Sterling, Kevin O Brien and G Wilson can play spin comfortably and will be responsible for bulk scoring
Barry McCarthy-who returned with two wickets against Windies, both the openers, will lead the pace attack alongwith M Adair and Tim Murtagh.
