Forget the Vivo IPL 2019, it’s time for yet another crucial encounter in Women’s T20 Challenge 2019. Harmanpreet Kaur led Supernovas will lock horns with Mithali Raj led Velocity in a must-win game at Sawai Man Stadium in the evening.

While it’s the third game of the tri-series competition, the spots for the final are yet wide open. Let’s start with the Trailblazers, who have played both their games and have one win and one loss. Led by Smriti Mandhana, Trailblazers clinched 2 runs narrow win over Supernovas in the first encounter but lost to Velocity by three wickets in the second encounter. Now, the only thing they will be hoping is Velocity win their second game and Supernovas will be automatically knocked out of the contention for the final.

So, it’s quite clear that Supernovas have a do or die situation in front of them. A net run-rate boosting win will do the job for Supernovas.

Velocity, on the top, is somehow safe due to a much better net run rate (+0.678) but will be in no mood to take Supernovas lightly. They will be eyeing on two in two tonight.

Both the games have been low-scoring so far.  The wicket is a bit sluggish in nature, but the outfield is pretty quick. The average first innings score here is 157. So, expect a similar fashion tonight.

Supernovas faced a narrow two-run defeat in their first encounter despite some good performances. They are likely to remain unchanged.

Sophie Devine,  Nat Sciver and C Athapaththu are sure shot starters, barring last-minute injuries. Taniya Bhatia will keep the gloves while J Rodriguez will once again bat at number three followed by the skipper Kaur.

Radha Yadav did a wonderful job with the ball and will lead the attack alongwith Anuja Patil and Sophie Devine.

Velocity might not tinker the winning combination. However, playing back to back games is a bit challenging.

Kaur missed her fifty in the first game by just 4 runs and remained unbeaten on 46. J Rodriguez too had a little cameo of 19-balls 24 and is capable of hard-hitting

Sophie Devine and Natalie Sciver can hit boundaries if promoted up in the order and will be crucial with the ball too

In bowling, Radha Yadav returned with two wickets against Trailblazers while Anuja Patil and  Sophie Devine shared one wicket each

Velocity-

Danielle Wyatt, Hayley Mathews, Mithali Raj are the key batters in the side.

15-year old Shefali Verma impressed everyone  with her hard-hitting little cameo of 34 runs, including 5 fours and one maximum

Danielle Wyatt smashed 46 off 35 deliveries against Trailblazers and will be looking to carry her form

Mithali Raj and Veda Krishnamurthy will form the middle order.

In bowling, Ekta Bisht and Amelia Kerr returned with two wickets each and are the frontline bowlers for Velocity
