Vizag, May 10, Friday at 07:30 PM IST
Riding on Rishabh Pant’s blistering 49, Delhi Capitals are on their all-time high and will square off against Chennai Super Kings in the qualifier 2 to secure a spot in the finals on Friday evening at Vishakhapatnam.
After facing 6 wickets drubbing at the hands of Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings will try their luck with Delhi Capitals who are riding high on confidence from the past couple of games.
It was the batting department which was on the lower side in the last game against Mumbai Indians for defending champions Chennai Super Kings which resulted in the defeat. They will be looking to come stronger against the rejigged Delhi Capitals against whom the skipper MS Dhoni played an instrumental role when both the teams met in Delhi earlier. Barring MS Dhoni, no one else has looked up to the mark in the Chennai batting line up. Although they are in the rhythm, wrong selection of shots has been consistent with Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina and Shane Watson. The batters will have to show more maturity in order to secure a spot in the finals against Mumbai Indians.
On the opposite, Delhi Capitals are going good despite Kagiso Rabada’s absence – the highest wicket-taker so far in the tournament. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer have shown characters of finishing the game and it will be a team effort which can earn them their first IPL final.
The coin will be tossed at 07:30 PM IST in the evening.

Barring the skipper MS Dhoni, no one else had looked in flow with the bat this season. Dhoni is the top run-getter for the side with 405 runs.
Suresh Raina is the second in the list with 364 runs while Faf du Plessis sits third with 320 runs
MS Dhoni has remained unbeaten in both the encounters against Delhi Capitals this season – 44* and 32* and will be a perfect choice in wicketkeeper.
The Delhi keeper, R Pant too will be a good choice in wicketkeeper as the young guns average 30 against CSK. His four innings against CSK – 5, 25, 38 and 79
S Raina has a good average against DC and has scored runs against DC in both the innings – 59 and 30
Faf du Plessis last two innings against DC- 39 and 33
Refrain picking S Watson. The CSK opener has struggled a lot this season be it pace or spin. Also, Amit Mishra alone has dismissed him five times.
Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer will be right picks from DC in batting.
S Iyer’s last two innings – 44 and 18 || S Dhawan’s last two innings against CSK – 51 and 19
Shardul Thakur replaces Murali Vijay
