The “Kings” of the Indian Premier League face off as Chennai Super Kings host Kings XI Punjab in what will be either team’s fifth game of the season on Saturday.
Chennai Super Kings are the defending champions and are easily the side with the most experienced players in the roster. They hardly have made changes in the lineup from the final of last season, and that says a lot about their consistency. Now since they are coming off a loss, the management is aware of the area they need to address their efforts towards. Batting has never been their forte, and it might see Faf du Plessis come in the lineup to open the batting and give the team the ideal start they have lacked.
Meanwhile, Kings XI Punjab are the joint leaders of the IPL this season and are a formidable opposition to go up against for anyone. They are showcasing some real skill this season, along with versatility by changing up the starting XI. The inclusion of Sam Curran in the last fixture was a masterstroke as he was absolutely sensational. Ingredients for having a really good team to represent the franchise are there, and it will be interesting to see how long they are able to hang onto this momentum, which has plagued the team in the recent seasons.

Pitch Report:
This pitch has always favoured spin bowlers as its a bit slow. With boundaries a bit biggers than an average Indian stadium, scoring is not easy.
