India A versus Sri Lanka A moves on to the 4th out of the total 5 ODIs of the tour. Sri Lanka was finally able to win an ODI in the series against India, winning by 6 wickets in the last game (D/L method). Giving the benefit of the doubt to India, since they rested most of their star players in the last game, it was evident that their absence did hurt the overall performance of the team.

While Prashant Chopra did put up a decent performance from his side, scoring a 129 off 125 balls, bringing the total score of the team upto 291, their bowling order wasn’t as effective as the last two games. With the help of a very strong opening partnership from the Sri Lankans, they were able to chase down the score set by the opposition in the 44th over, due to the D/L method.

With the first win in their hands, the Sri Lankans will look to win the next game to equalise the series 2-2. The Indians should hopefully be back with full force in the next game with their star players, ready to win their 3rd ODI of the series.

India had rested Anmolpreet Singh, Mayank Markande and Sandeep Warrier in the last game but they might return to the playing XI, replacing Prashant Chopra, Shreyas Gopal and Ishan Porel.
Ricky Bhui has been very disappointing so far in the squad and could be replaced.

Prashant Chopra was given the responsibility as an opener for the Indians in the last game and he delivered. His 129 knock off 125 balls was sensational even though number 1 and number 3 batsmen couldn’t help maintain a good partnership.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, if he returns to the lineup, is also a very reliable choice. He has his 2 back to back centuries and has been not out in both innings. His batting style still remains a mystery for bowlers to exploit which makes him an unknown entity on the field.
Sri Lankan bowler Chamika Karunaratne made his first appearance in the last game and shocked everyone with his performance, getting a 5 wicket-haul and an economy of as low as 3.60.
Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube has been consistent in this series so far, grabbing a total of 5 wickets in the 3 ODIs. His batting performance isn’t great so far but hopefully, he is able to perform better in the next game.
Niroshan Dickwella was looking very doubtful till the last game until he scored 62 off 58. He hit 10 boundaries and maintained a solid partnership with Sangeeth Cooray, who went on to score 88 off 103 balls.
