Chennai, April 06, Saturday at 04:00 PM IST
As the weekend is down the line, the twelfth season of Vivo IPL is back with two doubleheaders. The first clash of Saturday’s doubleheader is a high-tension battle between the two of the most successful teams of this edition – Chennai Super Kings vs Kings XI Punjab. Placed in the first half of the table, both the sides have managed three wins and one loss in four outings so far.
After three wins on the trot, Chennai Super Kings faced their first defeat in the last encounter against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday while Kings Xi Punjab registered a dramatic win over Delhi Capitals in their last encounter, courtesy Sam Curran’s hat trick.
The match will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and Super Kings will be the first favourites to win the contest. The defending champions have secured two wins in as many home encounters and it will be interesting to watch if they manage three wins in a row at their den.
