Mzansi Super League, 2018

Nelson Mandela Bay Giants vs Tshwane Spartans, Match 10 | NMG vs TST WHO WILL WIN

The 10th match of the 2018 Mzansi Super League will see Nelson Mandela Bay Giants lock horns with Tshwane Spartans at the SuperSport Park, Centurion

Giants look to continue with the winning momentum; Spartans aim to address batting woes

The Bay Giants stormed back valiantly after a defeat in their last game to script a nine-wicket win against Durban Heat.

Junior Dala (2-16) and Chris Morris (2-29) spearheaded the bowling unit to restrict Heat to 6-127 in 20 overs before skipper JJ Smuts (62) and Marcao Morris (42) took centre stage to stitch a 94-run partnership helping their side chase down 131 in 17.3 overs.

Tshwane Spartans, on the other hand, have had an inconsistent campaign thus far, having won just one of their three matches.

Inconsistent batting performances have been at the heart of Tshwane’s struggles. After an imperious show in the last game, the horrors surfaced again as they could only post 139 in 19 overs. No batsman barring Giahahn Cloete (55) and Sikandar Raza could post any performance of substance.

Lutho Sipmala (3-22) and Jeevan Mendis (2-14) spearheaded the bowling performance but with the paucity of runs at their disposal, the target was eventually chased down in 16.3 overs.
