Punjab Kings go head-to-head against Mumbai Indians in the 46th match of the Indian Premier League at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali on 3rd May, Wednesday at 7:30 PM IST.
Punjab Kings were up against Chennai Super Kings in Chepauk. Chennai blasted their way through to 200 in the end. Bowling took a bit of beating in the end. It was up to Punjab’s batters to put up a performance of sorts and they didn’t disappoint. Prabhsimran Singh got them off to a blistering start and then Liam Livingstone continued to find the boundaries in the middle overs too.
That meant Sam Curran and Jitesh Sharma who came in late hit some lusty blows and put Chennai’s bowlers under pressure. When the game went down to the wire, Sikandar Raza held his nerve and scored the winning runs.
Mumbai Indians on the other hand were involved in a high scoring encounter. Mumbai bowling first gave away too many as Yashasvi Jaiswal of Royals scored a blistering knock of 124. Mumbai had to out do what Royals did and they did that splendidly. Cameron Green and Suryakumar Yadav got Mumbai off to a rollicking start and once they got out Mumbai had Tim David, he scored valuable 45 off just 14 balls that blew away Royals and went to heist 213 by three deliveries to spare.

The 46th match of the Indian Premier League between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali on 3rd May at 7:30 PM IST.
Indian Premier League will live stream on JioCinema app and website in India. The games will also be telecasted on Star Sports channels as well.
The pitch in Mohali is a balanced one. As shown in the previous games this season. Mohali pitch does play well in the first innings, but the first few overs is crucial as there’ll be movement around and the batters can go big at the end with wickets in hand. Average first innings score is around 157 and teams winning the toss will opt to bat first.
With how things have gone in Mohali in the last game, the pitch is a paradise for the batters. Lucknow made 257 which is the highest total of the season and almost went on to break the highest total ever. Punjab too were in the run chase for the most part but they fell short by 56 runs.
Bowlers will be put to sword and they need to be more accurate with their lines and lengths, bring in more variations. 12 wickets were picked by pacers while spinners scalped three wickets.

Liam Livingstone played a blistering knock against Chennai Super Kings in the last game. Livingstone is an all-round player, he’s got the knack of picking up wickets.
Jitesh Sharma has been consistently contributing down the order. Jitesh gets his innings going without wasting any time in the middle and he’s got the power to find the boundaries and hit the long one’s.
Rohit Sharma hasn’t been at his best this season for Mumbai. They need him to fire at the top and when he does Mumbai more or less ends up on the right side of the result.
Ishan Kishan too is struggling at the top of the order. When Kishan gets going, there’s no stopping him and that’s something Mumbai are missing out on this season.
