England Tour of Sri Lanka, 2018
Sri Lanka vs England Only T20I Match Preview
Colombo, October 27, 07:00 PM IST
After thrashing England by 219-run in the final ODI, buoyant Sri Lanka would be hoping to carry the momentum in the shortest format of the game. Both the teams will now reload at Colombo for the one-off Twenty20 International (T20I) to be played in the evening.
Although it was an inconsequential win for Sri Lanka, England’s skipper Eoin Morgan looked highly disappointed with the record defeat in terms of runs. It was not just the batting which looked vulnerable but an all-around show including bowling and fielding resulted in one of the worst-ever defeats for England.
Now as the focus shifts towards T20s, if we look at the visitors’ recent record, we will feel pity. In the last 9 T20Is, England has acquired wins in just 3 matches and have faced defeats in 6 games. They played their last T20I series at home in which India thrashed them by 2-1.
Sri Lanka’s story is also quite similar in T20Is. They have secured 2 wins in their last 5 T20I games. However, they registered 3 wickets win over the Proteas in their last T20Is and will come pretty confident following the win in the last ODI against.
The match is scheduled to start 07:00 PM Local at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

For making a Fantain fantasy team, you get 100 points as salary and can pick up to 7 players from a single side. So, let’s start-
We have two options here- Jos Buttler and Niroshan Dickwella. Both the options are quite good and you can go with any one of the two. We will prefer Jos Buttler here.
In batsmen, England Skipper Eoin Morgan and opener Jaso Roy will be perfect bets from the visitor’s squad. Both Morgan and Roy were the leading runscorers for the side in ODI series. From hosts, Dinesh Chandimal and Dasun Shanaka will be the safest bets. Kusal Perera will not play, so don’t pick him.
In all-rounder, Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali from England and Thisara Perera from Sri Lanka will be perfect picks. All the three will help you collect points with both bat and ball. Stokes and Moeen Ali were the top contributors with the bat in last ODI.
Isuru Udana, Liam Plunkett and Adil Rashid will be the right choices in bowling. You can also pick Lasith Malinga who got a call after almost one year following a successful comeback in ODI series.
Captain and Vice-captain:
We have picked Eoin Morgan as captain after looking at his form and Thisara Perera as vice-captain due to his ability to gain points with both bat and ball.
