The Big Picture
After a forgettable last ODI which saw England succumb to their worst-ever defeat [in terms of runs (219)], the tourists will look to shrug off the blip and cap off the limited-overs leg with a morale-boosting win.
Unlike the ODIs, England’s form in the shortest format of the game has been inconsistent thus far. While they failed to make the finals of the Trans-Tasman Trophy earlier this year, they were humbled by India 1-2 in the home summer.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, boasts of a similar record in the T20Is- two wins in five matches. However, the 219-run win in the last ODI would give Thisara Perera-led unit a much-needed confidence after lacklustre few months in white-ball cricket.
They, however, would need to resurrect their fortunes at the R.Premadas Stadium where they’ve won just four of the 19 matches played at the venue.
