Ind vs Nz

India has been a very consistent test team in the past few years and in the last few away tours they have also proven that they are a team which is not just dominant at their home but also good at facing fast bowling on difficult pitches. They are now going to face New Zealand at their home turf in what is going to be a series which will be dominated by the spinners and the players who are good at playing spin. The spinners that India has should be able to get them a win in the India vs New Zealand series. But the dream 11 predictions that you make should not be based on this assumption. New Zealand are the world champions and certainly competitive in any format particularly in the Test format. India would have to be perfect in all departments to ensure that they win this one and the following are the areas they should be ultra-careful about.

  • First Test scenario

In the recent past, we have seen Indians struggle in the first test. The India-England home series saw them lose the first test in Chennai and who could forget the test where they got dismissed for 36 in the first test in Australia. India is missing some key players right here in this series and there is inexperience so they are a little vulnerable in this series and ought to be careful about the first test. Every test dropped can count in the test championship scenario and they need to make sure that doesn’t happen here. They need to be at their A game from the very beginning and make sure that they dominate the New Zealanders right from the first day and don’t let the door be open for them to enter

  • Vary of spinners

The Indians are historically known to be good players of spin however in the recent past, we have seen spinners such as Nathan Lyon, Moeen Ali and Jack Leach get the better of the Indian batting on multiple occasions. We are going to see a lot of very good spinners here who have proven to be a handful for Pakistan and Bangladesh earlier so we could make a case for them to trouble the Indian batting too. This could be a case of overconfidence or just under-estimating spinners from outside the subcontinent but if they are not at their best, NZ will definitely exploit it.

  • Middle Order woes

There is a certain weakness in the Indian team right now and that has been the weakness in their middle order with Virat Kohli not being available in the first test and Rohit Sharma missing the series too. This is a scenario where they would not like to be in as we have in the recent past seen the Indian team lose wickets in clumps. There isn’t a player who could drop anchor and play a long innings. That is going to be a major issue particularly if the toss doesn’t go the way of the Indians and they have to play last. Chasing a total would be difficult if the spinners start giving the Indians a hard time and the pitch breaks. This is where they would have to use every bit of their skill and be counted for good.

The team however with the presence of Rahul Dravid will be making sure that they are working on their weaknesses and be the world beaters that they are. It all leads to preparation for the 2023 test championship final.
