DC eye their maiden title
A revived franchise of Delhi was in the mood of rampage right from the beginning. With consistent performances and team efforts, Delhi Capitals managed to become the second team to qualify for the playoffs and now they will eye their maiden title. Delhi Capitals will play against the SRH. DC will be making their first appearance in the playoffs since 2012 when they meet the SRH for Eliminator 1.
Delhi Capitals have never made an appearance in the finals while SRH have qualified in the finals on two occasions and have won the title once. Both the teams have met once in Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium and Delhi Capitals emerged victorious on that occasion. Talking about this edition of the Indian Premier League, both the teams have met twice. SRH won one occasion while DC won on another.
SRH weakened by the loss of their marquee players
David Warner and Jonny Bairstow anchored the team this season before returning for the World Cup preparations. Against Delhi Capitals, David Warner has scored 337 runs so far. But, he has flown back to Australia and his absence has left a huge void in the team. SRH managed to qualify for the playoffs with 12 points and they would aim to make this opportunity count when meeting the Delhi boys in Vizag.
