Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is a T20 franchise team that competes in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise was established in 2012 and took over from the now-defunct Deccan Chargers. Kalanithi Maran of the SUN Group is the owner of the franchise, and the team’s home ground is the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s IPL Journey

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a pretty good debut season in IPL 2013. They won ten out of the 16 league games and qualified for the playoffs. However, they lost to Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator and finished fourth. The 2014 and 2015 seasons were not great for the team, as they finished sixth on the points table in both seasons.

However, SRH bounced back in 2016 and went on to win their maiden IPL title. They finished third on the points table and became the first and only team to win the IPL title after finishing outside the top two since the qualifiers came into play. However, they lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in the Eliminator. In 2018, the team had another fantastic year as they topped the league phase with nine wins and five losses. They reached the final but lost to Chennai Super Kings.

In 2019, SRH was inconsistent, winning six games in the league stages. They finished fourth and qualified for the playoffs but lost to Delhi Capitals in the Eliminator. In 2020, they were once again inconsistent, needing to win three games in a row towards the end of the league phase to qualify for the playoffs. They beat Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator but lost to Delhi Capitals in the Qualifier 2.

The IPL 2021 season, has not been great for Sunrisers Hyderabad. They have just one win from seven matches and are languishing at the bottom of the points table. However, with the break coming at the right time, the team will look to get over the initial hiccups and try to win the trophy for the second time when the IPL resumes in September.

Harry Brook, the English recruit, is an explosive batsman who can change the game in a matter of overs.
