IPL 2022 has been a feast for the batsmen as the wickets are extremely batting friendly coupled with short boundaries makes the season a high scoring one. All the top order batsmen need is just to play out the new ball in powerplay, post the first three overs when the swing vanishes, the runs were coming without any difficulty whatsoever.
The explosive wicket-keeper batsman from England in Jos Buttler was one of the retained players for Rajasthan Royals along with Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal. There is no availability issues with respect to Jos Buttler, as he has been discarded from the test team of England, he was available from game 1 for the RR.
Ever since Jos Buttler got the opportunity to open in T20s, he has become an absolute monster in this format. There is no stopping this man once he crosses the first 3 overs of the game. He is head and shoulders above others in the leading run getters chart for this season.
Jos Buttler’s phase wise run scoring in this season.
|Overs||Runs||Strike rate||Dot %|
This has been an absolute masterclass from Jos Buttler so far after 8 games in the season. He has carefully played out the new ball bowlers in the first 3 overs where the probability of getting out is high, he strikes at just 106 in that phase but finishes the powerplay with a bang by striking at almost 200 in the 4 to 6 overs phase. He maintains the momentum in the middle overs with very minimal dot percentage and a healthy strike rate.
Though he hasn’t been at his best at death overs, he is already finishing his job well and good so far in the first fifteen overs of the game.
