England tour of Sri Lanka, 2018
Sri Lanka vs England, 3rd ODI | SL vs ENG WHO WILL WIN
In a bid to stay alive in the series, a beleaguered Sri Lanka will take on England in the third ODI at Pallekele.
In a rain-affected encounter at Dambulla, Sri Lanka’s familiar batting woes were exposed to hilt yet again as their top-order faltered against the steering pace of debutant Olly Stone (1-23) and Chris Woakes (3-26).
All-rounder Thisara Perera and Dhanjaya de Silva consolidated the innings but it was too late as the home side fell short by 40 runs as per the DLS par score.

Lasith Malinga was the lone shining light for Sri Lanka. The veteran fast bowler claimed a five-wicket haul to derail England’s charge at the back end of the innings after Eoin Morgan (92) anf Joe Root (72) had given the tourists an ideal platform for the middle-order to cash on.
Sri Lanka record at Pallekele
Now, the action moves onto the Pallekele International stadium with the Sri Lankans hoping for a turnaround. They’ll be without Kusal Perera, who is ruled out due to a quad injury.
England record at Pallekele
England too will be without the services of Liam Dawson, who has been ruled out of the series due to side-strain. Kent all-rounder Joe Denly has been flown in as injury cover.
