In a bid to stay alive in the series, a beleaguered Sri Lanka will take on England in the third ODI at Pallekele.

In a rain-affected encounter at Dambulla, Sri Lanka’s familiar batting woes were exposed to hilt yet again as their top-order faltered against the steering pace of debutant Olly Stone (1-23) and Chris Woakes (3-26).

All-rounder Thisara Perera and Dhanjaya de Silva consolidated the innings but it was too late as the home side fell short by 40 runs as per the DLS par score.
