T20 World Cup 2022 – Who will win India vs Pakistan match?

The fans will be witnessing fourth T20I between India and Pakistan in a span of a year. It started with India losing to Pakistan by 10 wickets in the previous WT20 which also eventually knocked India out of the semi final race. It was India’s first group stage exit in an ICC event since the T20 world cup in 2012. India have always made either the semi final or final of the ICC events since then.

The 2^nd and 3^rd battle between these 2 sides happened in the recently completed Asia Cup where both the teams won a game each. The fourth battle between these 2 sides will happen in Australia in yet another T20 world cup.

India have changed the personnel since their shocking exit in the previous edition of T20 world cup. Rohit Sharma, as a captain has taken India to the #1 rankings in T20Is. They were unlucky with the toss, to go with some disastrous decisions in the Asia Cup which saw them getting knocked out in the super 4 stage. They would have learnt their lesson by now, and even in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, they can pose a solid bowling attack that should be enough for Pakistan.

Pakistan don’t have a good batting line-up for Australian conditions whereas India’s top 3 is easily the best in the competition. If India’s top 3 play to their potential, there is no stopping India in getting off to a winning start to their world cup campaign this time around.

Who will replace Jasprit Bumrah?

India are yet to name a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah for the T20 world cup. The competition is between Mohammed Siraj and Mohammad Shami. The odds are favouring Mohammed Siraj as he has been playing high level cricket for the past month, whereas Mohammad Shami has just recovered from Covid. It will be interesting to see who India pick in the squad between these 2 players.
