ARS vs WAT Dream11 Match Preview, Team News, Lineups

Arsenal can go level on points with champions Manchester City when they play Watford in the Premier League at Vicarage Road.

The hosts are going through a transition after sacking head coach Javi Garcia following three defeats and one draw in the first four league games.

But a lot of results have gone in Hornets’ favor this weekend. A win will be enough to propel them out of the bottom three.

Arsenal know these are the kind of games where they just can’t afford to drop points. Unai Emry is well aware of the fact that delivering the Champions League is of ultra importance this season. That it’s time to go a little further than the so-called transition period.

Watford Team News:

  • Watford’s Captian fantastic Troy Deeney remains out with a knee injury. He hasn’t featured this season.
  • While center-back Craig Cathcart is a huge doubt due to a muscle problem.
  • Étienne Capoue missed the last game for Watford through illness and he remains a doubt.

Possible INs and OUTs of this game:

  • Watford’s new coach is Quique Sánchez Flores who previously managed the Hornets during the 2015-16 season. His team was known for defensive solidarity and what we have seen from Watford’s opening four games, things must be tightened up at the back.
  • Javi Garcia used a 3-man backline with both Kiko Femenía and Daryl Janmaat featuring on the wings.
  • However, with Cathcart a doubt, Sanchez could revert back to his more favored 4-4-2. In that case, Kabasele and Dawson will play in the heart of the defence, while Femenia and Janmaat will take care of the wing-back positions.
  • If Capoue is not fit for the game, expect Tom Claverley to start in the midfield.
  • There could be more changes here. Gerard Deulofeu, Denny Welbeck and Ismaila Sarr all may come into the playing 11.

Watford Probable XI:

Foster (GK), Janmaat, Dawson, Kabasele, Femenia, Hughes, Doucoure, Capoue / Cleverley, Deulofeu, Welbeck, Gray

Arsenal FC Team News:

  • Arsenal confirmed on their official website that star forward Alexandre Lacazette will be out of action until October. The statement revealed that the former Lyon star was playing through injury in his left ankle and will be needing treatment.
  • Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin are both nearing a return but this game may have come too soon for them to feature here.
  • Rob Holding is also set to make a return to the first team after a gap of nine months but will have to wait at least a week to come under consideration.
  • Konstantinos Mavropanos, meanwhile, remains a long-term injury absentee.

Possible ins or outs of this game:

  • Unai Emery is expected to be more adventurous at Vicarage Road then he seemed to be against Tottenham Hotspur in the last game, where he named Xhaka, Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira in the midfield.
  • We expect only two of the aforementioned midfielders to start here, with Deni Ceballos returning to the playing 11.
  • Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are the guaranteed starters, but Reiss Nelson is likely to start alongside them, replacing the injured Lacazette.

Arsenal Probable XI:

Leno (GK), Maitland-Niles, Sokratis, David Luiz, Kolasinac, Xhaka, Guendouzi, Ceballos, Pepe, Nelson, Aubameyang

Likely to score:

  • For Watford: Andre Gray, Denny Welbeck, Gerard Deulofeu
  • For Arsenal: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe

Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: Arsenal’s hitman is a no-nonsense choice on any given day.

  • Games: 04
  • Goals: 03

Nicolas Pepe: The only player last season across all the major European leagues to rack up both goals and assists in double-digits. With the premier League experience already behind him, expect more impact from him here.

Strength and attributes:

  • Pace
  • Dribbling
  • Through Balls
  • Finesse Shots

Dani Ceballos: He set-up two goals in Spain’s 4-0 win over Feroa islands. The 23-year-old is pretty much a regular in Spain’s midfield after, which shows his growing reputation, His quick feet and the ability to dribble away from the opponents in tight situations, make him a unique player in Arsenal’s midfield.

Gerard Deulofeu: hasn’t been at his fluent best in the first four games, But for a player of his capacity, it takes only a successful dribble to feel the confidence back.
