LAF vs ATU Dream11 Match Preview, Team News, Lineups

The regular season in the Major League Soccer is often seen as a momentum gaining campaign, with the table hardly indicative of how results may pan out in the playoffs.

The pressure of the post-season is utterly different from what players feel during the regular course of the season. But certain games evoke a totally different feeling and approach, like the derbies, and no match is being touted as bigger in the MLS than the one between two teams from Los Angeles.

It was a top-of-the-table clash and Los Angeles FC were the pre-match favorites, all because of their incredible consistency.

But Zlatan Ibrahimovich was the big difference with his hat-trick separating the two sides last weekend.

For sure, it was a one-off game but Los Angeles FC must show why they have emerged as the hot favorites for the 2019 MLS Cup when they host defending champions Atlanta United FC at Banc of California Stadium.

Match Details:

The Major League Soccer match will be played between Los Angeles FC and Atlanta United at Banc of California Stadium, in Los Angeles, California. The ground has a capacity of 22,000.
The game will start at 07:30 AM (IST), on Saturday, July 27.

Los Angeles FC Team News:

  • Los Angeles FC announced that defender Mohamed El-Munir will undergo facial surgery to repair a Zygomatic Arch fracture he suffered last week.

  • The  27-years-old Libyan joins Javier Perez (left ACL tear) and Triston Blackmon (right quad strain) on the sidelines.

Possible INs and OUTs of this game:

  • With Tristan Blackmon out, Steven Beitashour will start the match at right-back.
  • Mohamed El-Munir may be out, but he normally features from the bench and his absence should have no bearing over manager Bob Bradley‘s starting 11.
  • Adama Diomande will be leading the line for the hosts with All-Star captain Carlos Vela starting on the right side of the attack.

Los Angeles FC Probable XI:

Miller (GK), Harvey, Segura, Zimmerman, Beitashour, Atuesta, Blessing, Kaye, Rossi, Vela, Diomande

Atlanta United FC Team News:

  • The defending champions have failed to recapture the form of the last season and that’s mostly down to the big injury list they are just not managing to fend off.
  • They could be without seven first-team players for the trip to Los Angeles, with four ruled out, and three remaining questionable.
  • George Bello (right adductor injury), Hector Villalba (knee injury), Kevin Kratz (quad injury) and Brek Shea (knee injury) have all been ruled out.
  • In addition, Florentin Pogba (left thigh injury), Mikey Ambrose (left thigh spasms) and Ezequiel Barco (right knee injury) are doubtful ahead of the game.

Possible ins or outs of this game:

  • Frank de Boer has not any options to flirt with the squad and considering his team is on a two-game winning streak, there’s no reason to change the winning combination.
  • However, Gonzalo Nicolas Martinez, aka Pity Martinez, is pushing for a start and may replace Brandon Vazquez in the playing 11.

Atlanta United Probable XI:

Guzan (GK), Gonzalez-Pirez, Robinson, Escobar, Nagbe, Remedi, Meram, Hyndman, Gressel, Josef Martinez, Pity Martinez
