The start is always crucial. No team wants to be left behind with too much ground to make even in the early stages of the season.
Montpellier, having lost the opening game at home and just about managing a point from their away trip to Bordeaux last time around, know that the ball is in their court when Lyon visit them for the 3rd round of the new Ligue 1 season. Europe is where this team wants to be at the end of the season, and for that to be the case, collecting points against your direct rivals can go a long way in deciding the final position on the table.
Lyon, meanwhile, are hoping to remain relevant in the title race for the longer period. But it’s a tough ask for any team in France to challenge the might of PSG and it becomes a tad tougher when you sell your best players.
Only time will tell. But this is the toughest test Lyon come up against in this yet new season.

LYN vs MOT Dream11 Grand League Picks for Captains & Vice-Captains:
Memphis Depay: Transformed! Unlocking his true potential. The Dutchman hit a bottomless chasm of sorts at Old Trafford, then made a switch to Ligue 1 and, the rest is the history.
The 25-year-old has been a revelation of sorts in Lyon. He has started the new season with three goals in just two games. More to come.
This season:
Moussa Dembele: Another gem of a player on Lyon’s roster. The 23-year-old is one of the many players exploding to the scenes at this club. Two of the stars have left already this summer, but the club is still rich in talent, and it’s all because of their famous academy.
Houssem Aouar: Young and shining. Stocked with talent, and if nurtured properly, the sky is the limit.
The 21-year-old is still learning his trade to some degrees but can give any experienced leg a run for its money.
Won the man-of-the-match in the last game for his all-round display against Angers.
Last game:
Andy Delort: The 27-year-old Algerian topped the goal scoring charts for Montpellier last season, and is already up and running for the current season after finding the back of the net last weekend.
Last season:
Gaetan Laborde: Set-up Delort in the last game. He is the team’s no-10 and wears the shirt on merit as he is one of the most creative players in this team. Watch out for his defence piercing passing.
