MCI vs NEW Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:
Manchester City can cut Liverpool’s lead at the top to just one point when they play Newcastle United in the Premier League at St. James' Park, in Newcastle upon Tyne, on Tuesday night (IST).
By the time this round of fixtures culminates, Newcastle United could find themselves in the bottom three. This is the biggest danger they have been flirting with all season, and considering the situation Magpies are in, the danger is destined to loom over them till the very end of the season.
For a club of that size, more than 50,000 Tynes flocking into the St. James' Park week in and week out, this is not what they deserve. For the fanatism and loyalty, this club is second to none in the whole world. There are more than a handful of so-called rich clubs who will do anything to have that level of fanatism amongst their own supporters. But the loyalty and the staunch support mean only so much these days and the money is everything, it can buy you success and could bring new fans to the fold as well.
Talking about the resources, Rafael Benitez has almost no penny whatsoever to recruit new players. He hasn’t been given enough help or the support from owner Mike Ashley. No wonder the banners and the placards of “Ashley out” can be seen even on TV on matchdays.
These are the internal matters of the club and we can’t delve into them too much. The reality is Newcastle are pretty much in grave danger of getting relegated into the Championship this season. At the moment, they are 17th with 21 points from 22 games going into the home clash against Manchester City.
Bumpy ride ahead:
After the home clash against Pep Guardiola’s team, the Toons will be on the road for two straight games. And the fixture list doesn’t look good at all.
Rafael Benitez’s men will be travelling to London to take on Tottenham Hotspur, and then to the west midlands as they face Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineaux Stadium.
This could be a tough few months ahead for Newcastle United and their loyal supporters.
The Cityzens are almost living on the other side of the coin if we take the current Newcastle United’s situation into consideration. For ages, this club endured and forced to live in the big and the haughty shadows of Manchester United. A win over Red Devils used to be the biggest highlight for all the City fans, such were their standards.
But something happened in the summer of 2008. Manchester City were bought by the Abu Dhabi group, ending the 14 insane months of former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s ownership. And as they say, the rest is history.
No old English order anymore:
The money made them the power they are these days. The billions of dollars City spent is the reason why English football’s usual and the old order is now in shambles, waiting to be re-written. The used-to-be top-four, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea, are trying hard to chase City down these days.
The City are the reigning champions of course, after winning their 3rd Premier League title back in May 2018 and doing so by breaking some old records.
Last season was a smooth ride for them, on the road where City seemed to have been in an F1 car, chased by steam engines.
However, Liverpool are trying to re-emerge as a true force of English football once again. They beat City three-time last season, paving the way for this season's Premier League title race. The champions are now 2nd in the table but have the chance to cut the deficit down to just one point with a win on Tyneside.
