NEW vs MCI Dream11: With Liverpool playing late in the evening, Manchester City have the golden opportunity to cut the lead at the top to six points when they visit Tyneside to play Newcastle United in the Premier League at St. James' Park, on Saturday evening. While the Toons will be looking for a response having lost 2-0 at Aston Villa.
Although Newcastle United lost the match at Aston Villa on Monday, they are in better form still. Before the match against Villans, Steve Bruce's team had a five-game stretch where they recorded three wins, including victories at home against Manchester United and over West Ham United on the road. But due to the poor start to the season, Bruce's team is not far away from the threat of relegation. Five points separate Newcastle from bottom three, and the gap is likely to become thinner considering the profile of the opponent in the next game.
For Manchester City, this has been a plain average start to the current season. With only a shade over one-third of the season gone, the champions find themselves nine points behind current pace-setter Liverpool. That's why the margins for further errors are slim to none.
Pep Guardiola's team responded to their 3-1 defeat at Anfield with a 2-1 win over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium last weekend.
Host: Newcastle United
Visitors: Manchester City
Match Timing: November 30, @ 06:00 PM
Match Venue: St. James' Park, in Newcastle
Newcastle United team news: Steve Bruce has been dealt a fresh blow ahead of the game after it was reported that right-back DeAndre Yedlin is suffering from a hip problem and is a huge doubt for the game. He actually played poorly against Villa, conceding a cheap free-kick which eventually led to the first goal.
Matt Ritchie has had surgery on his knee and won't be returning till Janurua next year, as per reports, while defender Jamaal Lascelles remains out with an injury.
Steve Bruce will definitely be rining changes to the playing 11 which was poor for the large parts of the game at Villa Park. We expect Yedlin not to be rushed here, and that could see either Javier Manquillo or Emil Krafth getting the nod at right-back.
Midfielder Sean Longstaff is back from suspension and should get a start in the midfield, alongside Isaac Hayden.
Defenders Fabian Schar and Florian Lejeune are back to full fitness and will be in consideration to play against City.
Manchester City team news:
Sergio Aguero has been ruled out for Manchester City through a thigh injury and won't be playing in this game.
Leroy Sane, Aymeric Laporte and Oleksandr Zinchenko remain on the sideline for the reigning champions.
Gabriel Jesus is set to lead the lines for Pep Guardiol and Manchester City in this game. Fernandinho and John Stones will once again partner at the back, with Benjamin Mendy and Kyle Walker starting on the wings.
Riyad Mahrez will be looking for another start here after scoring the winner against Chelsea last weekend, but the returning Bernardo Silva may (from suspension) is expected to get the nod here.
