The falling empire of the defending champions, Real Madrid, will seek a desperate resurrection when they play host to a struggling Real Sociedad side on Sunday at the Santiago Benrabeu. Yes, they’re not done and dusted, but they definitely are not in a position where everyone is so so used to see them in. A win against their lowly visitors will take them back into the top 4, four points behind leaders Barcelona, who’ll play later in the day.
Real Sociedad, on the other hand, are in even deeper woes, as they find themselves on a losing streak that has now stretched to four games. The rough patch has been so disturbing for Real Sociedad that they now find themselves just three points away from the relegation zone. A defeat for them and a win for Athletic Bilbao and Villarreal will put them straight into the bottom three. Despite the stakes being so high, Sociedad will fancy a draw to be the best they can get at the Berbabeu tomorrow.
