TUR vs ICE Dream11: Turkey host Iceland in a crunch Euro 2020 qualifier match at Türk Telekom Arena, in Istanbul, Turkey, knowing a point will be enough for them to secure the qualification. While Iceland will hope to repeat the same performance they managed in June this year when they beat Turkey 2-1, which remains Senol Gunes’ men’s only defeat of the campaign.
Turkey exceeding the expectations:
Though, Turkey were always the favorites to qualify for the Euro 2020 from Group H, it’s fair to say that they have exceeded the expectations. The 2nd place was all everybody could see for them when the qualification started, but they are in the prime position to finish the qualifying rounds as the group winners.
Surely, the four points they collected from the matches against France were the gamechanger for Şenol Güneş’ team.
For Iceland, the game is a do-or-die situation. They are 3rd on the points table, and can’t afford to drop points. A win here, though, will make things interesting and will take the qualification to the last round.
Turkey are unbeaten in the last four Euro qualifiers, and that run includes three goals-to-nil wins. But interestingly, Turkey’s last defeat was a 2-1 defeat against Iceland in June this year.
While Iceland have lost twice in the last three games, including a 4-2 defeat away at Albania, a tough result to swallow for Iceland.
Competition: UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifiers
Match Timing: November 14, @ 10:30 PM
Match Venue: Türk Telekom Arena
