Delhi – In a spectacular exhibition of batsmanship, it was Kohli-AB masterclass that made the target of 181 look too small.
Winning the toss and asking Delhi Daredevils to bat first, Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore got DD openers cheaply. Rishabh Pant carried on from where he had left in the last innings to rebuild the innings. The wicket-keeper batsman smashed 61 off 34, while debutant Abhishek Sharma slammed unbeaten 46 off 19 balls to take Delhi to a par score.
In reply, the Royal Challengers started poorly with both openers returning to the dug-out for single digit scores. Thereafter, Kohli-AB put 118-run partnership for the third wicket to take the game away from the home side. Kohli slammed 40-ball 70, while de Villiers scored unbeaten 72 off 37 deliveries.
With this loss, Delhi Daredevils are now officially eliminated.
