Winning the toss and electing to bowl, Kings XI kept Rajasthan batsmen in check from the outset. Soon after RR innings’ top-scorer Buttler and Sanju Samson were dismissed, KXIP took complete control of the game. The teenage sensation from Afghanistan Mujeeb Ur Rahaman stole the show with the ball, pocketing three wickets for 27 runs.

In reply to RR’s 152/9, Kings XI made a cautious start. After losing two early wickets, KL Rahul and Karun Nair rebuilt the innings. KL Rahul batted through, making 54-ball 84, to finish the game. Marcus Stoinis played a good hand lower down the order.
