Mumbai – The Qualifier 1 of IPL 2018 was an absolute cracker! In the game dominated by bowlers, Faf du Plessis was the difference between the two sides. The South African batted through the innings to take Chennai Super Kings to the IPL final for the seventh time.

Opting to bowl first, CSK were off to a perfect start with Chahar removing Dhawan off the very first delivery. In bowler-friendly conditions, the Super Kings kept it tight and never let the momentum slip away. It was Brathwaite’s lusty blows towards the end of the SRH innings that took them to a challenging total.

In reply, Bhuvneshwar Kumar removed Watson in the first over of the CSK innings to set up the game. At one point, CSK were reduced to 6/62, with Rashid Khan bowling tidy, and target looked too far out of CSK’s reach.

Faf du Plessis kept his composure to bat through with the tail and took his side home. The South African struck a fantastic 42-ball 67, and sealed the match with a six.
