Hyderabad – The first of the Sunday doubleheader between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad was a thriller, and also produced two exceptional innings from either side. Batting first, CSK started the proceedings slowly, also registering the lowest power-play score in this IPL.

The latter part of the CSK innings was the master-class from Ambati Rayudu, the most consistent batsmen of CSK. Rayudu added 112 for the third wicket with Raina, with the former smacking 79 runs off 37 balls before getting out in a mix-up. Raina played a good hand with fifty, while MS Dhoni provided lusty blows towards the end of the innings.

Chasing the target, SRH could not break free with Chahar bowling splendidly. In the latter part of their innings, captain Williamson exploded to bring Sunrisers back in the game. Yusuf Pathan chipped in with 45 but could not stand until the end to take his side home.
