SRH vs MI Match 7, IPL 2018

Score summary:
MI: 147/8, Lewis 29; Sandeep 2/25, Kaul 2/29

After a positive start in their first match against Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers resumed from where they had left in their second against Mumbai Indians at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Even in the absence of their premier bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, SRH bowlers did not let explosive MI batting to break free.

Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and invited the visitors to put a target on the board. Rohit could not make the most of the life he got in the first over, could not get going and departed after making 11 off 10 balls. Siddarth Kaul bowled an exceptional first over to send back dangerous Lewis and Ishan Kishan in the fifth over of the innings, to take the sting out of Mumbai’s batting.

Kieron Pollard and Suryakumar Yadav made valuable contributions in the middle order to keep the scoreboard ticking but wickets at the regular interval did not help Mumbai’s cause. For Sunrisers, Sandeep and Stanlake picked two wickets each, while Rashid Khan (4-0-13-1) bowled an excellent spell, bowling the most dot balls in a match in IPL to choke MI’s prowess.
