Sunrisers Hyderabad clinched the last-ball thriller to beat Mumbai Indians by 1 wicket and go top of the table. Chasing the target of 148, in-form Shikhar Dhawan led the charge with the bat, scoring a fluent 45 off 28 balls. The left-hander put on 62-run partnership for the first wicket with Wriddhiman Saha to setup the chase.

The SRH batting didn’t have it easy, with latest IPL sensation Mayank Markande running through MI’s batting order and returning with bowling figures of 4/23. It went down to the wire with SRH needing 11 runs in the last over. Deepak Hooda smashed six off the first ball to ease the equation. On the last ball, Billy Stanlake had to score one run for SRH to win, which he managed heaving one over the infield. Deepak Hooda remained unbeaten on 32 runs off 25 balls.

Earlier, Sunrisers bowling restricted the explosive Mumbai Indians batting to 147/8 after winning the toss and sending the visitors in first. SRH bowlers did not let MI batting to break free at any stage, with Siddarth Kaul sending back dangerous Lewis and Ishan Kishan in one over.

Kieron Pollard and Suryakumar Yadav made valuable contributions in the middle orders, but could not push the score beyond 150. For Sunrisers, Sandeep and Stanlake picked two wickets each, while Rashid Khan (4-0-13-1) bowled an excellent spell, bowling the most dot balls in a match in IPL to choke MI’s prowess.
