CHI vs NYL Dream11: The WNBA is in full throttle and oh, how I love this league! Each day I wait to consume more of this league and have high respect for the athletes that make it so far. It isn’t easy in the league, the pay isn’t handsome as in the NBA and a lot of effort is needed to maintain a roster spot. Anyway, in this game, the Chicago Sky will host the New York Liberty.
The Sky lost the last encounter in Overtime as Sparks took control late and handed them a 91:98 loss to open the season. Meanwhile, the Liberty had a hot start to the season and shut out last season’s table-topper Sun 81:79 as highly talented Sabrina Ionescu loaded up for 25 points. Can the experienced Sky get their first win of the season?
Host: Chicago Sky
Visitors: New York Liberty
Match Timing: 12 May, @ 04:30 AM (+05:30 UTC)
Venue: Wintrust Arena
Liberty can improve, Sky has the title to defend
Sky showed some rust in the first game on the defensive end and as Vandersloot was raided by the Skyy Sparks defense. While the frontcourt of Messeman and Parker excite a ton of excitement as both are all-around players, however, without Copper and Quigley, the team looks a bit off on both ends. Dana Evans had a strong game while Azura Stevens kept on impressing, but the Sky will need their two main players back soon.
The Liberty had a scintillating opening night and their defense surely was impressive. Sabrina Ionescu looked even more dialed in terms of her offense and had a brilliant start to the season with an all-around performance. Howard and Dolson form a physical frontcourt whereas Willoughby and Whitcomb looked great in the opening game. Can Liberty build something special here?
