Sparks team huddle LAS vs WAS Dream11

LAS vs WAS Dream11: The WNBA is in its halfway stage and the All-Star voting has been completed. Breanna Stewart and A’ja Wilson have emerged as the top contenders in the All-Star game and they have been doing an incredible job like the prior seasons. The WNBA has been amazing this season as expected and it surely deserves way more viewership. And the same goes for the game between the Los Angeles Sparks and the Washington Mystics.

The Sparks have lost nine of the 14 games and their season has been awful so far. They have lost three in a row and they come into this game after losing to the Wings 82:92 in another underwhelming effort on the offensive effort. Meanwhile, the Mystics have done a great job on the defensive end because of that, they have won 11 of their 18 games. They won the last game against the Sun 71:63 as Elena Della-Donne scrapped up 15 points. Can the Sparks overcome the tough defense of the Mystics?

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis

Sparks need offensive cohesion and their defense is awful too

The Sparks have been struggling on the defensive end, being the worst three-point defensive team, and are placed dead last in the rankings. And to make the matters worse, they are also the worst three-point shooting team and are placed dead-last in terms of overall three-pointers make and attempts. The team has been off in terms of building runs and they are struggling big-time.

Nneka Ogwumike continues to be the face of the Franchise on the offensive end and her low-post game has been scintillating. Liz Cambage needs to be a more effective scorer and rebounder. Katie Lou-Samuelson can be effective in terms of long-range shooting, but she can’t alone fix the problem. Brittney Sykes has been an amazing option off the bench whereas Chennedy Carter continues to be robbed of minutes, mostly because of her lack of defense.

Mystics’s defense is amazing, the offense is off

The Mystics have won more than 70% of their games with Elena Della-Donne, and only 50% of their games when she is absent. However, even when she has played, their offense has been struggling. The major issue has been that guards Natasha Cloud and Ariel Atkins are not as prolific on the scoring end as they used to be. They are the slowest-paced team in the league which is not a surprise.

Alysha Clark has been fantastic in the wing role and she has had some fantastic offensive nights. Shatori Walker-Kimbrough has been effective off the bench. Elizabeth Williams has been a Center who can be amazing on both ends. Shakira Austin is a fantastic rookie who can score and rebound but her consistency has been off.

Performance Predictions

Highest scorer: Nneka Ogwumike: 20
Highest rebounder: Shakira Austin: 10
Top assists maker: Natasha Cloud: 8
