Bucks are struggling a bit
The Bucks got derailed after the hottest start in the league after Giannis and Jrue picked up injuries, but more so than that, their rotations haven’t been set as much as they’d like to. This was a period where they could have used the services of high-yielding wing Khris Middleton to turn things around, but at any rate, they are still in a firm position despite recently dwindling wins, as they started at an amazing rate. As usual, Giannis remains their premier player, and for a team that has won a championship before, they will be in contention again.
Jrue Holiday remains their most dependable Guard option on both ends whereas Bobby Portis is having another stellar season. Brook Lopez’s activity level has been terrific and he is also posting impressive numbers but right now the Bucks desperately need Khris Middleton to return for the scoring balance to improve. The bench looks a bit iffy too and Middleton’s return will place Portis from the bench, which will give more depth to the squad. The Bucks’ defense has been a bit off-color too and they will need to improve on that end.
The Cavs have recovered
The Cavaliers lit up the league when they won eight and lost just one to start the season. However, a lengthy road trip set them back and they lost five straight which dented their progress. After coming back home, they once again restored their earlier ascendancy and won four in a row. Therefore, improved effort on the road can bring big gains and the team can lodge itself in the top rankings. Donovan Mitchell is a bonafide elite scorer whereas Darius Garland is an amazing playmaker and has upped his scoring making for an electric backcourt. Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen form a strong frontcourt pairing but Caris LeVert needs to mend his scoring while the bench is a bit off with Cedi Osman continuing to be inconsistent.
